What Is Universal Studios Hollywood?

Owned by NBCUniversal (Comcast), Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the oldest working Hollywood film studios still in operation today. Billed as “The Entertainment Capital of L.A.,” Universal Studios Hollywood combines tours of the studio sets and a full-fledged theme park.

Where is Universal Studios Hollywood?

Universal Studios Hollywood is located about 10 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. It is in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County with parts of the studio residing inside the city limits of Los Angeles and the rest in Universal City, California.

It is nestled in the area east of Sherman Oaks, west of Glendale, and north of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. CA.

What Can I Do at Universal Studios Hollywood?

There is plenty to do at Universal Studios Hollywood when you enter through the gates at 100 Universal City Plaza. You might bump into some of the characters featured in TV shows and movies, such as The Simpsons, Scooby-Doo, Shrek, or the Minions.
The rides and attractions are stretched out on two sections: the upper lot and the lower lot. You’ll recognize most of the names from blockbuster movie titles or hit TV shows.

The upper lot also features the world-famous studio tour, where you can go behind-the-scenes of a real working movie studio.  The tour runs one hour, and visitors will tour four acres of the historic studio lot spanning 13 city blocks, built with creative consultation from Steven Spielberg.

Universal’s animal actors aren’t left out of the picture either. With recreations from The Secret Life of Pets, trained animal actors delight crowds with tricks galore.
