“The weight was gone. I was able to wake up that day and ask ‘what am I going to do with my life?’ I have that option now to get up and do what I need to do.”

Where SSRIs and other medications never seemed to help, Wynn had grown accustomed to trying treatments without much hope of success. Finally, at the end of his rope, Wynn turned to Ketamine to help treat his depression (MDD). It was undeniable that he had finally found a solution after his first treatment. Watch Wynn speak to his experience at PKI and how his life has turned around. Individual results may vary.

Hi. My name is Wynn. I’m 23 years old. I’ve been struggling with depression and some other mental health related issues for about 10 years now. I tried pretty much everything to treat it, SSRIs, atypical antidepressants, mood stabilizers, basically anything and everything, just without much effect.

I was kind of at the end of my rope and had found ketamine treatment. Did some research on several places in the area that can treat me, and I ended up finding PKI. They were able to get me in within a week, and started treatments. A typical day before treatments for me, it was kind of waking up and just kind of having that weight that depression has. The little voice in the back of your head that says, “We’re not going to do anything today and you can’t do anything today.”

Having my first treatment, of course, having treatment resistant depression. Everything in the past has not worked for me, so you expect each treatment you try not to work for you. After the first treatment, it was pretty much undeniable. It had worked for me within a matter of in hour or so. Continuing the treatments, each treatment, I continue to get better. Things started to have a more positive outlook for me. I was able to get up. The things that were holding me back before weren’t holding me back. That weight was gone. I was able to wake up that day and say, “What am I going to do today with my life?” Because I have that option now to get up and do the things I need to do, which I wasn’t able to do before.

Thank you to PKI, and thank you to ketamine treatment for being able to get me to this place in my life.

Treating depression is often a non-linear path.  Most of our patients have been through years of trying one medication after another, and often times from doctors who don’t talk to each other.

Does this sound familiar:

You’ve been advised by your doctor to try an SSRI (or have tried several already) to treat your depression.  It takes 6-8 weeks to see if it works. The side effects are terrible and work immediately. After a few months, you realize that you feel terrible still, and are frustrated that you wasted months with a drug that was intended to make you feel better, but it made you feel worse.  Did you know that SSRIs only work 20% more than a placebo? For everyone else, they don’t work. But the side effects are debilitating.

Treating your depression Today

Unlike SSRIs or SNRIs that take weeks to see if they work, most of our patients feel immediate relief from their depression the first day that they do their initial ketamine treatment.  In some cases, it takes 2-3 treatments for the benefits to kick in, but in over 85% of our patients who have used IV Ketamine as their modality to treat depression, they see a major improvement in their quality of life and relief from their depression and pain.

85% success rate and it works immediately.  Sounds much better than the alternative, doesn’t it?
